About Our Company

Jay & Mary Pat Silberman

Jay W. Silberman, along with his wife Mary Pat, founded Cruise Consultants Company in January, 1983. The corporate offices are located in San Antonio, Texas.

Jay received his Bachelor in Business Administration from Northwestern University (1960), and the degree of Juris Doctor from De Paul University (1965). He is licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Texas and is registered in the U.S. District Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals, the United States Tax Court, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Mary Pat received a Bachelor in Business Administration from Trinity University (1977), and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Texas.

Over the years, Jay has served as a member of the travel agent advisory boards of Holland America Line-Westours, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Costa Cruises, and Princess Cruises, as well as the highly respected CLIA inter-agency marketing panel, which also included representatives from ASTA, ARTA, AAA, ICTA and members of the CLIA marketing committee.

Jay and Mary Pat Silberman were among the first travel agents to be awarded the designation of Master Cruise Counselors by Cruise Lines International Association. (And were the 1st and 2nd in San Antonio, Texas to earn this recognition and status.) The company has received many awards over the years, from the cruise industry and from almost every cruise line as well.

Cruise Consultants Company is a member of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA). In addition to marketing cruises, the company has a separate division which specializes in consulting with other travel professionals who wish to obtain knowledgeable assistance concerning opening and/or operating a cruise only agency or a cruise division within their travel agency.

Cruise Consultants Company is known and respected throughout the cruise indrustry and has clients throughout the United States and in many foreign countries as well. Articles have been written about the company, its principals, and their expertise and competence which have appeared in several cruise guides, and several of the nations leading newspapers, including the New York Times, The Washington Post, and U.S.A. Today. Endorsements have been received from such travel dignitaries as Stephen Birnbaum and Arthur Frommer.

Mr. Silberman has been a lecturer at travel industry conferences. He has written articles which have been published in both the consumer and trade press. In addition, he has been featured in national print media and has been interviewed on both radio and television.

Jay and Mary Pat have found cruising to be a rewarding profession, and during the 25 years since becoming involved in the travel industry, they have traveled (not just observed) on more than 135 cruises and have spent over 1,800 nights at sea. They have personally escorted more than 80 cruise groups to destinations on all seven continents and have visited 133 different countries. In addition to five full world cruises on Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Crystal Cruises, they have experienced the Mediterranean, Africa, S.E. Asia, Scandinavia, South Pacific, and the Orient, as well as Alaska, Mexico, the Caribbean, Transcanal, South America, Canadian Provinces and the American coastline.

They continue to enjoy their life of travel, especially when they are joined by their friends and clients.
